Homo Ludens. Between boredom and anxiety.
Being deprived of the attractiveness of religious knowledge, which was previously much more characteristic of them, we began to torment in search of new sources of rapid rehabilitation from the increasing complexity of life and the multiplicity of tasks before us. As creatures addicted, but saving energy, as a result, we are hung on the simplest reactions and dopamine pathways-paths - computer games and synthetic weakly or strongly narcotic drugs. Road to nowhere.
However, life is such a powerful phenomenon that some of us, whether intuitively or substantively studying the issue, find worthy and interesting ways out of this trap. Any personal experience, even a very limited one, is very welcome in this regard because, despite the appearance of progress, the human essence does not change and we remain creatures who think and use very vulnerable heuristics - in fact, ingenuity gained from practical experience. Our rationality is very limited and insignificant, but we have salvation - we love and know how to play.
Homo Ludens is an excellent book, reading which you really want to weave it in one way or another into the canvas of your other knowledge and practical experience and chronically quote. Often when not hitting, but even if in 1 in 100 cases you do it hitting, you will greatly help humanity to deal with stress efficiently.
Each of us is not let go of our filthiness - sinful habits that do not allow us to develop spiritually and effectively. For example, I also have a huge number of such skeletons in closets, and one of them is excessive theorizing. A sin is a sin, that it will never be possible to get rid of it, but you need to strive to do it. Without God's help, this activity is not very real, but relying on it, you can try. For a start, it is enough to realize your numerous delusions and finally admit “My name is Yuri and I am the most insignificant of God's servants.” And he begins to help, remaining in those moments when another pride, delusion, or illusion is coming down to me.
Therefore, I have the hope that it will be possible to weave quite interesting and numerous conclusions, obtained partly by the scientific method by various fellow citizens around the planet, into this amusing story, without plunging you into boredom.
Why are we living hard?
For more than a century, mankind has been living in the concept of a shop assistant next to a military unit from the Russian funny film “Dembel” - “There is science, but there is no life!” After Darwin, we generally stopped relying on the eternal truth that “Life is a gift from God and it must be lived in constant communion with the Lord ”and decided that we would also live with our evolutionary experience, which supposedly allowed us to descend from monkeys. Darwin's theory was the first step in turning us back into primates.
Historical experience shows that a person can be taught much more wildness if he is made to believe in what is called a social and social evidence base. We are known to prefer to go broke along with the rest than to get rich going against public opinion. Therefore, we can support any absurdity, if we talk about it for a long time under the influence of very great authorities, introduce it into the school curriculum and, in general, disseminate it quite widely. We will not resist such social props and distortion of the narrative. We will be tortured with deuces in biology and contemptuous snorting. Those who are trying (and extremely successful) to turn us away from God have learned to do this with the utmost efficiency. We have learned to give them our personal and living space just as effectively. And that's why they sat so tightly on our necks.
Fortunately, the answer to the question "How to get out of such a shameful situation?" sounds extremely simple - believe and play. No controversy. Both are very interrelated processes.
Nature did not need a person to learn to play. But she needed him in order to raise the status of the game and make it not only a fun and exciting way to live and pass the baton of life, but also to realize it and its importance for the preservation and continuation of life. If it were not for the wildest need of those in power to accumulate power and wealth, then we would teach children exclusively in a play environment and would teach hundreds of times better than now. But civilization does not need billions of independent and happy people. She needs new crowds of victims ready to take on any nonsense that 400 of the richest families in the world and their conceptual owners decide to spray among us. The advantage of our position is that we do not need to strive to get out of this matrix or fight it, strive to destroy it, bring someone to clean water in order to become happy within reasonable limits. All of this is created not only to keep us in check but more to make our physical life easier and create opportunities. The problem is not in the surrounding reality, but in our attitude to it. In our ability to filter it and cooperate with it.
Game 1. Social networks.
It makes sense for us to start with this particular type of modern person's game because it is the newest and most complex one. It is now clear that the main purpose of social media is to keep us in check with the doctrine of perpetual opposition. The list of hot topics will always include an element of enmity between one part of society and another part. Minorities and majorities, boys and girls, right and left, believers and non-believers, good and evil. The more branches this tree of the knowledge of good and evil has, the higher the likelihood that each of us will be immersed in an atmosphere of confrontation and condemnation of opponents. every time you taste content through your Apple, you should understand that the “masters of life” - eternal enmity - want to make you hawala first of all. Without leaving it, it is impossible to see this world in its true light and diversity.
Not many people remember today, but the only way to the Kingdom of Heaven (a metaphor that is stunning in its power, which many modern inhabitants of the planet ignore from their Darwinian pride) is the lack of condemnation of other people. “Do not judge, you will not be judged” - this is not about human judgment and interaction with neighbors, it will not work here. It is about the interaction of man and Logos. Whether you went to church or not, fast or not, lit candles or not, the entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven will be open for you if you did not condemn other people. Even with this more than a compelling system of social coercion and social proof.
So, on the one hand, social networks are doing everything to ensure that this easiest route for us was completely blocked. Their arsenal of methods is not limited to the fact that they cultivate hate characters, elevate them to a pedestal and endow them with non-existent virtues. They act in a million ways, involving each of us in this process.
On the other hand, this is not the fault of social media. This is purely our personal problem. After all, whether we follow the lead of these problems or can we take from social networks only what is useful for ourselves depends not on them, but only on ourselves. The freedom of our Will is always with us. Besides, the triumph of hate is not so limitless. In order to sell something, you already have to think about whether the advertiser wants to advertise his product through such content. The latest tendencies are that even if a media character is known by millions of people, but he is tired of them and disgusted, he causes their rejection with his rudeness and arrogance, then he will receive less and less advertising offers. This is not mainstream yet, but it has already begun. Brands don't want hate to spread to them. They want their ads to be insensible and friendly videos and posts in which people convey helpfulness to each other, not anger. This process is rapidly gaining momentum on YouTube. Already, this platform will serve ads to a friendly shallow channel, not a famous mastodon, who is caught by the ubiquitous linguistic robots in excessive saliva splashing. They may want to make fools of us, but they themselves do not want to be fooled.
Therefore, even being guided solely by commercial considerations, social networks, as complex systems, cannot but contain a conflict of interest - on the one hand, frighten and embitter us in order to graze. On the other hand, encourage us to be helpful and judicious so that we can help them achieve their business goals. And they make great money on this dualism - first, they will cheat you on hating, and then they will offer you something tasty on the acute and friendly channel.
Isn't this an example of a fun game that is subdivided into many types of games such as personal brand building, monetization, gaining popularity, self-expression, and so on? Even some.
To be continued….
